Z e l i g   S e g a l, sculptor, draftsman, and designer, grew up in a religious family, he continues to design
ritual objects suffused with jewish feeling, though in an annovative mode, free of the familiar language of
Judaica. Sometimes Segal creates not only a style, but an original iconography. Thus, in a set of Torah
adornments, instead of the traditional finals (rimmonim), he offers a sculptural six-winged structure,
inspired by Isaiah’s vision:“With two he covered his face, with two he covered his legs, and with
two he would fly.” (Isaiah 6:2)
